On-device dictionaries segment and rank the stream without sending ordinary typing to SpaceFree. The exact release data and long-run speed are still being checked.设备上的词典负责分段与排序，普通输入不发送给 SpaceFree。最终词库和长时间速度仍在验收中。

If you enable AI, the necessary text goes directly to the provider you connect with your own account. SpaceFree's invite service does not process that text.启用 AI 后，必要文字直达你用自己账号连接的服务商；SpaceFree 的邀请服务不处理这些正文。

Today: macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. No. The local engine does everything offline. A beta activation code plus your ChatGPT sign-in adds the AI sentence mode for longer, mixed sentences.不用。本地引擎离线完成全部工作。有内测激活码并登录 ChatGPT 后，长句和混合句会多一个 AI 整句模式。

Ordinary local typing stays on your Mac. If you enable AI, the necessary input and context go directly to the AI provider you choose through your own account; SpaceFree does not proxy those model calls. Our invite service receives license requests, not typed text. You keep control of your provider account, model access and limits. AI requests go directly from your Mac to that provider instead of through a SpaceFree text server. Three U.S. provisional applications were filed pro se between September 2025 and May 2026, covering space-free whole-sentence decoding, provider-agnostic BYO-AI routing, and hardware-key-position layout decoding. The first has lapsed; two remain on file. SpaceFreeIME is built by Jerry (Jinyu) Liu. He worked at Fuyao Glass America, first as a production intern in summer 2025 and later as a shift supervisor in 2026, where a Chinese-speaking supervisor and an English- and Spanish-speaking crew coordinated by text all day. He wrote the first prototype in September 2025 to stop switching keyboards himself.
